What determines your amount

  • The distance of your journey

€250 up to 1,500 km, €400 up to 3,500 km, €600 beyond, measured from origin to final destination.

  • The delay on arrival

From 3 hours at your final destination; for cancellations, time windows around your original times apply.

  • That day's weather

We immediately test whether a weather excuse would hold, using the real METAR data of that moment.

  • The 50% exception

Only on flights over 3,500 km may the airline halve the amount if you arrived within 4 hours of schedule.

Three worked examples

Amsterdam to London (357 km) with a 3.5-hour delay: €250 per person. Brussels to Málaga (1,716 km) cancelled on the day itself: €400 per person. Amsterdam to New York (5,878 km) with a 5-hour delay: €600 per person.

Travelling as a family of four? All four seats count. That family on the New York flight claims €2,400, regardless of what the tickets cost.

What our checker actually does

The checker looks up your flight in the flight data, measures the real arrival delay and calculates the distance between your airports along the great circle, the same method the regulation prescribes.

It then goes beyond a lookup table: it pulls the METAR weather reports of that moment and assesses whether a bad-weather defence would hold. So you know not just the amount, but how strong your claim is.

No surprises afterwards

The result is free and commits you to nothing. If you proceed, we work no win, no fee: a fixed percentage of the paid-out compensation, and only on success.

No subscription, no advance and no costs if we lose. The calculated amount is always the legal amount per person; what we deduct is shown transparently upfront.

Frequently asked questions

What details do I need for the calculation?

Just your flight number and the date. If you no longer know the flight number, you can search by route; the checker then shows that day's flights.

Is the calculated result binding?

The result is a legally grounded assessment based on real flight data, distances and weather reports. The final amount follows from the claim itself; the legal framework with the three fixed amounts is set in the regulation.

Is the amount per booking or per person?

Per person. Every passenger with their own seat is independently entitled to the full amount, children included. You add fellow travellers to the same claim with one signature each.

Why could my amount be halved?

Only on flights over 3,500 km: if the airline rebooked you to arrive within 4 hours of your planned time, it may halve the €600 to €300. Comparable 2 or 3 hour rules apply to shorter flights.

My flight cannot be found. What now?

Then you can enter the details manually; we verify the flight afterwards in additional sources. Even flights from several years back can usually be traced.
